The holidays are quickly approaching and that often means lots of family time! No matter how much we love the holidays and our families, it can be stressful. Women tend to be all things to all people, trying to keep the peace and make sure everyone is happy. And in doing so, we often end up frustrated, resentful and UNhappy. That’s where BOUNDARIES comes in!

Brene Brown shares, “Daring to set boundaries is about having the courage to love ourselves, even when we risk disappointing others. We are never more courageous than when we are willing to be imperfect and vulnerable, and when we’re willing to set boundaries with the people around us.” (paraphrased)

Join us as we explore the popular books, BOUNDARIES and SAFE PEOPLE by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend. We will discuss their solutions to tough questions like these:

How do I set limits and still be a loving person?

What if someone is upset or hurt by my boundaries?

What does a legitimate boundary look like?

Why do I feel guilty or afraid when I consider telling someone “no”?

What can I do when someone wants more of my time, love, energy, or money than I’m comfortable giving?

Also returning to The Exchange and joining Elizabeth for this event, is our favorite therapist, Shelley Diefenbach, M.A., LPC. She will be sharing
her expertise on Boundaries from the counseling world.

Having clear boundaries with ourselves and others is essential to a healthy, balanced life. Clear your calendar, mark the date and bring a friend. (Or maybe even a family member that you will be spending the holidays with! 🙂 You will be glad you did.
